At present, in the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries, most product production processes are completed through four independent processes: reaction crystallization, solid-liquid separation, washing, and drying of materials, and most raw materials are flammable, explosive, toxic, harmful, and expensive solvents. It is usually completed independently using four different equipment: reaction kettle, centrifuge, washing tank, and dryer. Because centrifuges and ordinary dryers do not have fully enclosed conditions, toxic, harmful, odorous, flammable, and explosive gases or substances are inevitably leaked into the production environment during the production process or material transportation, causing serious pollution and safety hazards. Accidents occur from time to time, posing a great threat to life and property safety. This conventional process has the following issues:;

1. Conventional vacuum dryers are only used for drying and have too few functions;

2. Crystallization, filtration, washing, drying, and other processes need to be carried out on other equipment, which makes material transportation more complicated and poses risks in ensuring purity.

3. During the entire pre drying production process, excessive use of equipment and prolonged exposure of materials in the production workshop can easily lead to contamination;

4. In the production and drying of some flammable and explosive materials or solvents, the exposure of flammable and explosive materials to air or a large amount of volatile flammable and explosive gases increases the risk of explosion, which is unsafe

6. Conventional processes require multiple equipment and operators, resulting in a large production area and increased investment costs.

At present, the chemical and pharmaceutical industries use ordinary double cone rotary vacuum dryers for drying after material reaction, concentration or crystallization, filtration or centrifugal dehydration, washing, re filtration or centrifugal dehydration. This process involves the operation of heavy unit equipment and material transfer devices, which not only occupy a large area of production site layout, require high equipment installation investment, have dispersed operators, and complex material transportation links, but also limit the development of large-scale production. In addition, in drug production, especially in the production of sterile powder, the materials used in the production process are highly susceptible to secondary pollution from the environment, which is one of the main reasons for unqualified products. For a long time, there has been no good way to solve these problems. It is a long-standing and difficult problem that enterprises urgently need to solve.

In order to solve the above problems, our company has made improvements on the basis of the original ordinary double cone rotary vacuum dryer, making it have multiple functions such as reaction, concentration or crystallization, filtration or centrifugal dehydration, washing, and drying, achieving the goal of one machine for multiple uses. The post-processing process of flammable and explosive materials can be completed in one equipment under fully enclosed technology, greatly improving the safety of cattle production, greatly reducing equipment investment, reducing the number of operators, and avoiding material turnover pollution.



Working principle of four in one double cone dryer

The four in one double cone dryer is a new generation drying device developed by our company in combination with similar domestic product technologies. It is suitable for the pharmaceutical, chemical, and intermediate raw material industries, and can also be used for small-scale and pilot processes of fine chemical products, especially for processes involving flammable, explosive, and harmful solvents. It integrates four functions: crystallization, filtration, washing, and drying. It has more crystallization, filtration, and washing functions than conventional double cone vacuum drying equipment.

Feed: The discharge port is facing downwards, and the reaction process is completed. The liquid is fed into the four in one tank through the vacuum center feed tube or compressed air through the center or hammer edge feed tube, with the capacity measured by the observation mirror.

2. Crystallization: Start the nitrogen blowback system and periodically blow back the material to exchange it in the cylinder. Accelerate the movement of the material liquid, cool the crystallization, adjust according to the actual situation, and set the online material liquid temperature display.

3. Filtering: After crystallization is completed, flip the tank and place the filter plate at the bottom. Depending on the needs, it can be filtered by suction or pressure filtration. The filtrate is discharged from the bottom branch pipe (during the pressure filtration process, there is a nitrogen back blowing bubble process). Open the bottom pipeline and quickly open the sealing plate to drain the residual liquid.

4. Washing: Inject an appropriate amount of cleaning solution into the central tube, start the tank to rotate the cleaning material, and rotate it to the filtering condition for liquid discharge operation.

5. Dry; Switch the jacket to inject hot water, start the rotation of the tank, activate the vacuum system, and during the rotation of the cone, the material continuously flips inside the cone and comes into contact with the cavity wall for heat exchange and drying. The material exchanges heat with the cavity wall of the cone, and nitrogen is injected regularly to replace the volatile coal. The volatile solvent vaporizes under vacuum and is discharged through vacuum pumping.

6. Sampling: The qualification of materials can be determined based on the sampling at the sampling port, and sampling can be carried out under vacuum conditions.

7. Discharge: With the discharge port facing downwards, the vacuum inside the tank is broken. A pneumatic blower is installed on the quick release interface next to the tank cone, and a fixed docking discharge bag is fitted. The ball valve is opened to discharge the material. If the material has strong adsorption and sticks to the wall, the blower is opened to discharge while blowing.



8. Tank cleaning; Generally, water injection and spray cleaning are used to meet specific cleaning requirements

The four in one double cone dryer is equipped with a filtrate filtration device on the cone part of the tank, opposite the discharge port. A multifunctional application interface for spray cleaning and feeding is installed on the cone side, which realizes the mechanism of online crushing and agglomeration of materials into blocks and the filtration of material liquid after crystallization. During crystallization and drying of materials, it ensures uniform cooling and crushing of materials, ensures uniform heating and cooling of materials, shortens drying time and temperature uniformity of materials.

3. Cooling crystallization: After the crystallization material liquid enters the tank, the jacket is introduced with a cooling source and nitrogen is blown back to increase the cooling intensity of the material liquid and shorten the cooling time.

The four in one double cone dryer is suitable for the concentration, mixing, drying of powders, granules, and fibers in industries such as chemical, pharmaceutical, and food, as well as materials that require low-temperature drying (such as biochemical products). It is more suitable for drying materials that are prone to oxidation, volatilization, heat sensitivity, strong irritation, toxicity, and materials that do not allow crystal destruction.
